A structured framework for Rudraksha evaluation
The RGL 5C Grading System is the first grading system developed specifically for Rudraksha. Designed by Rudraksha Gemological Laboratory, it provides a structured framework for evaluating the physical and internal characteristics of Rudraksha beads with greater consistency and transparency.
1. Count
Count refers to the verification of natural mukhi formation. This includes the number of faces, the continuity of lines, and the overall natural structure of external grooves.
2. Core Integrity
Core Integrity focuses on the internal structure of the bead. This includes chamber alignment, density indicators, and maturity observations supported by X-ray review and Heft Index analysis where applicable.
3. Condition
Condition evaluates the external health of the bead, including cracks, decay, blemishes, worm damage, erosion, or unusual alterations.
4. Consistency
Consistency compares the outer mukhi structure with internal features to assess whether the bead demonstrates natural internal-external alignment.
5. Cut
Cut refers to overall shape, natural symmetry, and bore positioning. This helps document presentation quality and physical balance.
Why It Matters
The 5C framework gives clients a more understandable and systematic way to interpret certification results. It is intended to improve trust in Rudraksha grading by moving beyond vague or informal descriptions.
